It is unfortunate hearing about your experience receiving the WD Black drive that was not working for you. As a troubleshooting step, please test the drive on Windows using our Data Lifeguard Diagnostics program. If it passes the test we recommend testing another drive bay or SATA port on your system.

If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.

Pros: price,speed,capacity
Cons: noise,longevity
Overall Review: Drive only lasted one year, and just suffered sudden failure. Was never dropped or handled improperly. Sorry cannot recommend a WD refurb EVER!
Even more bizarre is that both pieces of recovery software are calling it “Seagate slim”?
Pros: All 10 worked perfect. Runs fast, no problems.
Cons: I would purchase several hundred at this price. Cons are that they are no longer available.
Overall Review: All 10 worked perfect. Runs fast, no problems.
Pros: Can’t beat dat price man. Had for for a couple months without issue. Upgrading from a 350 GB HDD to a 750 means a lot more leg room, and the 7200 RPM is blazing fast.
If you’re looking to upgrade your notebook space, don’t be afraid of this refurb. It’s worth it.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Pros: Cloned my 60Gb SSD to this drive. It’s as fast as my old Kingston SSD was and gives me the space I needed, that’s why I went to this drive. It is quiet and battery life of my laptop is still the same, so no appreciable power hit from the WD Black drive over the SSD. I would’ve gotten another SSD but I’m on a tight budget.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Even though it is rated as 750G, it only shows about 700G available after installed in Windows7 environment. Getting this for $54.99, it was still worth it.
Also, I love the new packaging Newegg uses on it’s hard drives now.

Pros: Drive seemed to work fine initially, formatted well, had quick response.
Cons: It died after 4 months of light use, When I ran a diagnostics, it was showing 38 bad sectors on drive, and it had been powered up 1 year and 5 months..
Overall Review: I should have run a diagnostics on the drive, before installing it, I would have found it to be a heavy re-used drive and sent it back as soon as I received it.. I will be running a diagnostic from now on, so I don’t end up with a dead drive..
