Pros: Great drive super fast. Considered getting an SSD but the price point was a little too high for a secondary computer. This is perfect.

Overall Review: So far so good.
Pros: Quiet performer. It seemed to improve PC operation over the original drive.
Cons: Failed within 2 months of installing.
Overall Review: Gave only one egg due to short life.

Pros: Even though its thinner than the orig drive the bracket took care of that and it lined up exactly. Loaded windows 7 then the drivers and it works fast and no issues.
Cons: None yet….see below “other”
Overall Review: Now this is the “Other” how long will it last ? The orig was the same drive a WD Black and it lasted 4 years so not the best longevity but ok.
Pros: Except for lesser capacity, this drive is better than the earlier 750 GB WD7500BKPX model because this model has double the cache and, according to the spec sheets, has a lower audible (noise) level.
This model has a single platter instead of two platters, which makes this run less warm and IMO is more reliable.
Compared to the similar seagate model, this WD has 5 yr warranty instead of 3 yr warrenty and might be better built.
My drive was made in Malaysia, not made in China (I’ve experienced great reliability with Malaysian-built electronics like those from Yamaha, Panasonic, etc, that work trouble-free for many years – they cost a little more but worth it).
Cons: Costs more per GB than other HDD drives.
I wish it was available in larger size, but then it’d be multi-platter which is something I wish to avoid in a main/boot drive for a laptop (tho it might be acceptable to have multiple platter for data drives because those are used less – I have some).
Overall Review: This drive can fit into a 9 mm HDD bay if you have either a 7mm caddy or the original 9.5mm caddy. At least for thinkpads.

Overall Review: Once installed, checked SMART data to verify newness, then ran speed tests.
Tests showed 149 MB/s to 81 MB/s transfers depending on the area used, which averages out to 115 MB/s. On a SATA II interface the cache speed was over 332 MB/s.
Let it warm up to room temperature before opening, in case it arrived cold, to avoid any water condensing on it.
Pros: Fast, reliable, the name actually means a lot in the business, great price point, great warranty.
Cons: Went up in price a bit since I bought. No cons other than that!
Overall Review: This drive was just barely over $50.00 when I bought it not even a month ago… but I used it to replace a working WD Caviar Blue 5400rpm (500GB) drive out of a refurbished/new HP Sleekbook 15 F series. The machine I bought was underpowered with a very weak and older i3 processor (labeled a pentium) and only 4GBs of 1600mhz memory. It was running Windows 8.1… I updated Windows to Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and the first thing I did was notice how amazing the performance had gotten since putting in this drive.
Lets get this straight though… just a replacement drive isn’t going to result in a supercomputer… but this computer needed ANYTHING to help and this new drive with it’s transfer speed and beefier cache can make nearly any underpowered computer breath some new life.
Plus, I was able to take my old drive and turn it into a portable drive!
Pros: Fast for a HDD. Reliable and consistent. 5 year warranty. Didn’t even realize i had it for 8 months. No issues of any kind. Best HDD you can find. And Cheap.
Cons: not a SSD.
Overall Review: Recently, accidentally made a new car speaker touched my XPS 15 by the HDD compartment while Windows was running causing it to crash. It was the first time it crashed since i installed it. Luckily it continues to function normally.

Overall Review: I use this drive as a full time backup of my SSD boot drive, so far it has worked flawlessly.
