Pros: 500gb wd for fair price
Cons: horrible QA. drive did not recognize when stuck in external case. hooked directly to computer as an additional drive and had to low level format first in order to partition it without it locking up. after a week i now have file corruption.. it tries doing a disk scan at startup and unable to read when finally in windows.
Pros: works great
Cons: no warranty
Overall Review: refurbished—-still going strong
Pros: Nice packaging, nice price, it works.
Cons: -none-
Overall Review: I had concerns about ordering a refurbished HDD. I have had no problems with it and there is no way to tell it from a factory new HDD.
Pros: Price
Capacity
Refurb’d
Cons: Not 7200RPM
Not free!
Overall Review: $42.99 is a great deal for a refurb’d 500GB SATA II HD from WD. I was a little hesitant about buying this from WD at first, since their reliability has gone down quite a bit lately. I was glad I did and have purchased an additional 3 drives. These are great for saving money on refurbishing laptops!
Pros: Cost-effective high-capacity drive for storage.
Cons: Only 5400 RPM.
Overall Review: I bought this to use in an enclosure as an external backup drive for storing about 300 GB of media on. Someday I will probably remove it from the enclosure and put it in a media server when I get around to building it. So far, it has performed as well as expected. No complaints.
Pros: 2.5 inch format, 500 gb, cheep
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: My 1tb drive went out in my all-in-one. I got these two to replace it. I had to do some custom mounting and blocked the use of my pci slot, not that i could have used it anyway. Some one at gateway thought it would be a good idea to put the hdd at the top of the case where all the heat goes. Thanks too my mounting and these 2.5 inch drives the heat can actually leave the case.
Pros: Quick ship, no disk errors upon completion of 3 different scans, overall happy customer.
Cons: the only con i would say was how it was packaged one thin sheet around the HDD with a piece of cardboard on each side of the disk. and enough room inside package for it to move around ALOT! but not enough to deduct a egg.
Overall Review: it was $20 less than its equal sized HDD. who cares if its refurbished.
