Pros: + Black performance . . . ?
+ Black quality
+ Obviously smaller size
+ These are perfect for the Thermaltake Core P3/5 case if you want the drives visible
Cons: – It’s not the same price as the 3.5″?
* This drive only runs an extra $15-20 over the 3.5″ version and was worth the extra cost for my TT Core P3 case
– Not an SSD for the same price as a HDD?
– I worry about the mounting screw holes getting stripped out
* Use a smaller #1 Phillips screwdriver with a short handle to minimize leverage
Overall Review: * For my application the I/O is backwards from what I would like; either mount the HDD upside down or stretch the cabling
* I’ve bought 4 of these between 2 computers and they all check out good in CrystalDisk Mark/Info
* Here are the CrystalDisk Mark scores for 1 of the 4 drives:

Pros: I had ran out of space on the standard hard drive the PS4 ships with and needed a replacement. I picked this 1tb 7200rpm hard drive and the PS4 runs faster in loading games, etc; the loading speed is noticeable but not by a big margin. Overall, great hard drive 🙂
Cons: None 😉
Pros: Rocks over the slow 5400RPM drive
Cons: none
Pros: Contrary to one reviewer, these are not “OEM” drives. There are no Serial-ATA cables or fine china but Western Digital automatically gives the 5 year warranty when thev product is registered.
Cons: This drive [will not] install itself.
Overall Review: Yes, yes and teach it to self-install.
Pros: fast drive at 7200RPM
Cons: n/a
Overall Review: i purchased this drive to upgrade the one in my play station 4. i did get a small improvement in load times but the main reason i got this drive was to expand storage
Pros: So far works fine, it is the 1 month to 6 month even year use that will show performance that lives up to western digital brand.
Cons: None so far!
Overall Review: This did seem to make my load time more acceptable for this console peasant!
Pros: – Fast! Picture thumbnails load immediately compared to the Hitachi 500gb I replaced.
– Quiet. I can’t hear this drive over my PSU fan and that thing is pretty low on the dB scale.
– Light and small. I have this drive in a desktop because I felt the 3.5 inch form factor is excessive and read that 2.5 inch drives are more durable, quieter, and run cooler.
– The packaging was impressive. I’m generally paranoid with mechanical drives given their fragility but Newegg did a fantastic job packaging this drive. It was out of danger as far as I’m concerned and you shouldn’t worry at all about the drive getting damaged when it is shipped to you. Kudos to Newegg for keeping another HDD alive and luckily not arrive DOA due to physical damage.
– 1TB is plenty. Managed to install about 300gbs worth of games and still have plenty of room to spare.
Cons: -Does not come with any SATA cables or anything aside from the drive. I already knew this buying the drive but be forewarned you might need a spare SATA cable in case you didn’t have one already.
Overall Review: I would highly recommend this drive to anyone who wants something fast, compact, and light. Seems durable enough and if anything goes wrong *crosses fingers* then I’ll try to update this review to address that.

Pros: Was good while it worked. Especially good for large contiguous files. Put it in Thinkpad T series, where it ran dual-boot Windows 7 and FreeBSD 11.1
Cons: Noisy
Overall Review: Bought it here on April 19, 2017. It started to make the long and hard clicks of death on February 2. Got RMA from WD and shipped it to them with the shipping label they provided (they don’t pay shipping). It wouldn’t show on their tracking page of WD Support portal as being received up until now. Today I have received it back in mail in the same box, yet with no safety bubble I sent it in with with a funny note:
Dea Western Digital Customer,
We recently received the enclosed return from your local service partner at:
[address in KY where I had to ship it to]
After inspection, it has been determined that this product does not meet warranty eligibility requirements under the WD warranty policy and is being returned to you…
The reason for refusal is selected below:
Tampered.
If you have further questions, please contact WD at 1-800-275-4932.
Sincerely,
Western Digital.
No further questions. The RMA number is 87389433 , and the return status page is stating “waiting to receive” with received zero quantity. Which tells me they never planned to fulfil their warranty, it is a statistical game on their part. I understand that manufacturers are being abused from time to time, but now I understand that paying customers are being abused from time to time as well. I will hold on to the drive, it has no seals or screws tampered with, they didn’t bother even to point to anything on the drive. The S/N BN03JDDM, just for the record in case a class action.
No more Western Digital drives for me.
