The 5,400 RPM drive series is engineered for energy efficiency and quiet operation, contributing to longer and quieter operation on a single battery charge.

Pros: It was only $40 back in 12/12
Cons: This was the model that was installed in my Dell XPS, the first one died within a year while the laptop was under warranty. Dell replaced it with the same model, and that also lasted just about a year. I foolishly bought the same drive in Dec 2012, and well, that one lasted a little longer at just over a year (died this week).
Overall Review: I won’t be replacing the drive with another Toshiba.
Pros: Cheap little drive to replace a n acer laptop HD. didnt install windows but used ubuntu and showed my ex how it worked and she is happy with how fast this HD is with everything.
Cons: My ex has not yet at this point said she has had any problems with the drive so at this point so far so good

Cons: 1A power req means no USB power
Overall Review: If you want to use this in a portable USB cabinet it’ll need a secondary power source. This drive needs twice as much power at peak as a single USB port can provide. You’ll get clicking noises as the drive continuously resets due to lack of power. Otherwise, it works well!
Pros: FAST quiet and it cloned well what else do you want?

Pros: Bought this drive to replace an aging WD in one of the company’s laptops. Very quiet, No chewing sounds.

Pros: Works great ,seems seems speedy enough. Put it my desktop because it was cheep and I needed something to diagnose my system then I eventually will clone my laptop to it.

Cons: I plugged it into a USB to SATA adapter and heard the drive spin up and Windows began trying to install it as an external USB device. About half way through the USB driver installation (10 seconds more or less), HDD arm made a clicking sound and then just stayed in a continuous loop of clicking noises. That’s the sounds of a dead hard drive. It explains why the installation stopped midway.

Pros: I was able to restore a backup to the new drive successfully
Cons: None that I can think of.
Overall Review: I needed an inexpensive replacement hard drive for a failing one in an old laptop which I need to keep working for another year or so.
Pros: It was only $40 back in 12/12
