Toshiba America Information Systems MK8034GSX 80GB 2.5″ notebook hard drive with a 5400RPM motor that gives it up to a 12% performance boost over 4200RPM drives. The SATA150 interface and 8MB cache provide a high speed pathway between your notebook and your data.
This drive would work extremely well in an external enclosure for data back up or transfer applications.

Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Works well in my Dell XPS M1210 notebook, unlike the previous Samsung 2.5 drive.
Cons: A very annoying clicking or click-ish sound can be heard from this drive. At least the Samsung drive was near silent, but this drive sounds like a gremlin is in there crumbling up paper! Fairly annoying, especially for a notebook.
Overall Review: Between this drive and the previous Samsung drive, this one definitely puts a drain on the battery as I’ve lost close to 11 percent of my unconnected time, on average.
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Fast to load OS X and apps, spins up quickly
Cons: Loud, and a very unpleasant sound. Quite clicky, makes annoying noises when unexpectedly turned off.
Overall Review: I got this drive from the apple factory with my MacBook. it’s the biggest drawback of it.
