Pros: Awesome drive. upgraded a Toshiba satellite with 120gb HD to 500gb using Acronis True Image.
Cons: None really. Performs well for 5400rpm
Pros: No pros. My Toshiba hard drive in my Acer laptop died in 7 months. Yes believe it or not. It died in 7 months.
Cons: As stated, it died in 7 months. How can a hard drive die in 7 months? I really don’t know. Acer needs to nullify its contract with Toshiba and make a business deal to supply its laptops with Western Digital or HGST hard drives. Toshiba hard drives are of horrible quality. I still can’t believe that hard drive died on me in 7 months with only approximately 25% of the hard drive filled. Unbelieveable! Wow!
Overall Review: I bought a brand new Acer Laptop with a AMD Phenom II X-4 processor. The laptop is a great laptop. Well all the sudden, I’m getting warnings from my Windows OS that my hard drive is going to fail. I said,”oh its spyware”, so I did a scan. After an hour I got it again. Did another scan. Again I got the hard drive warning failure warning again. Well after 5 days of hard drive failure warnings, I decided to get rid of the Toshiba hard drive.
I was very upset this happened. I couldn’t wait for any warranty policies to take effect. I had no time and I needed a new hard drive for my laptop immediately. I was not upset but downright IRATE because I had to spend my hard earned money to buy a new hard drive.
Bottom line people stay away from Toshiba laptop hard drives,. Want Toshiba TV’s? Okay. Want Toshiba DVD players? Okay. Get anything Toshiba but stay the heck away from their laptop hard drives. Stay away from their laptop computers too. My friend has one and he is not happy with his
Pros: if thery work the laptop are very good.the last 8 years i buy 3 toshiba laptops/.the first still working after 8 years not a problem.the second i buy 5 years ago after 2 years backlight burn.the third i buy 2 years ago already i change 2 hard drives.the first fail after 5 monthes and replace for free.the secong after 15 months.both500 gb.never again toshiba.only tvs. sorry for my english
Cons: reliability
Pros: These are the best drives. Just like ALL hard drives, especially 2.5″ drives, they are kind of fragile and do not take abuse. You cannot drop, knock over or press on the top cover, or they will stop working. They are NOT child proof!!
Cons: I got two today at the F store for $39/ea.
Pros: I have this same hard drive in my laptop and its been in there for 6 years no problems my advice to greatgm is not to avoid toshiba hard drives but to avoid acer they are the bottom feeders of the laptop industry mean while toshiba is at the top making quality products i would advise everyone to run out and buy toshiba its money well spent
Cons: as for what caused greatgm’s hard drive to crash it could be a number of things such as a virus, overheating, a flaw with his acer there are many things that could have caused this so to say it was toshiba making a bad product is crazy find out what caused it then put the blame where it belongs and fyi every hard drive has flaws on it the hard drive rewrites around them so if he had the restore disk or even waited on the warranty he wouldnt be out any money its his stupidity he went out and bought another one but with the restore disk there was a chance he could restore it and the problem would be solved note this doesnt work everytime either but it can work
Pros: either came with or was factory warranty replacement for Acer Aspire
Cons: not as snappy as I would like
Overall Review: I was searching to see if I could download some itiration of Acronis so I can clone the disk to a platterless SD drive and I was brought here, where I bought the original notebook.

Cons: Not formatted, I installed it in an external drive and used Acronics to partition and format it.
