Pros: Hard to think of anything positive on this one!!
Cons: I purchased a Sony Vaio in April of 2010. From the start this hard drive had problems. I was using Windows 7 Ultimate with major boot up problems. Windows would go into system repair mode. Unable to work around all the bad sectors. Also I was unable to backup my Vaio with Norton Ghost and Windows System Image!! This hard drive had problems right out of the package from Sony.
Overall Review: Where were all the QA people at Toshiba and Sony? When you send a 500 GB hard drive out new, where are all the QA checks that should have caught this. Now over 1 1/2 years later, Western Digtial takes over!!! I fail to understand how bad product gets shipped in new pc laptops!!!
Pros: Not a single problem with hard drive. It’s stood up to 6+ reformats and different OS installs and multiple partitioning….I’ve been playing around with different versions of linux and dual booting setups.
And it works flawlessly from my old laptop to my new laptop
Cons: none
Overall Review: wish money grew off trees…..Oh wait it does sorta but anyways still a bargain
Pros: Fast transfer rate; lots of space
Cons: I use this drive with an enclosure kit as an external drive. I do a lot of file transferring. A month ago, I started getting disk errors. I scanned it several times and sure enough there were bad sectors. It’s not completely unusable but it causes many controller errors. I’ve requested an RMA from the manufacturer and am awaiting a replacement drive.
Pros: Bought this 8/2010 to upgrade my MacBook hard drive. Runs at 31 degrees according to iStat Pro, which I think is relatively cool. Quiet.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: This is my 2nd Toshiba upgrade HD, I’m thinking of getting another for a Mac mini.
Pros: nothing special 🙂 it just run perfectly
Cons: none so far 🙂
Overall Review: i will buy toshiba philippines again
Pros: Was easy to instal.
Cons: None.
Pros: Very quiet and very durable drive. I dropped it, about 3 feet, onto carpet without any issues. Installed in a Dell Inspiron E1705 running Windows 7, installed the OS without a problem. Dual boots Ubuntu Linux and Windows 7 with no problems, took the NTFS and ext4 formatting without incident.
Cons: Heats up quickly and makes the case quite hot to the touch, but that’s not enough to discourage a 5-egg Rating.

Pros: These drives are reliable, quiet & run cool. I’ve been using Toshiba for all my desktop & notebook upgrades. I’m a reseller. So when it comes to desktop sales & upgrading notebooks I can’t afford to have a customer call or email me with hardware failure. Since I moved to Toshiba I have not had one problem with their drives.
Cons: None as of yet.
Overall Review: Let me say this first before I continue with additional “Pros.”
Newegg has sales on the Toshiba brand drives a lot. That in it self helps for reselling.
Up until about 18 months ago I used 2 other brands, [SG & WD] During one of neweggs hard drive sales I purchased a few notebook hard drives for some of our notebooks. The first thing I noticed was each notebook ran cooler & quieter. I had no issues at all. With that being said, I decided to start using Toshiba Drives for all my upgrades & builds. When I sell systems, I ask for feedback. I made it a point to ask how they liked the drives. So far I have 100% positive feedback on the drives. I even went as far as just selling drives for buyers to do their own upgrades. Same thing, 100% positive feedback. If it’s a RAID or just a single drive, I have not had an issue. Last, I don’t get bothered when I read about a DOA, it happens.
