Pros: easy installation, sony almost begs you to upgrade there hard drive in the manual.
Cons: none yet, not sure as to the issue of potential heat build up.
Overall Review: wish i had gotten the 200gb…while upgrading, why stop? i should have looked a little longer at the selection available and gone for the kill
Pros: Easy HDD upgrade for PS3. No extra heat or noise. Worth every penny so far. Turn your PS3 into an Xbox Elite eater.
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: Not sure what to do with my old drive now.
Pros: Upgraded my 40 gig Ps3 with this drive…I really don’t know anything about computers and it still only took me 2 minutes to do this. One door and a couple screws…
Cons: None yet…
Overall Review: Check your instruction booklet, Sony tells exactly how to swap the drive out. Be sure to back up your saved items before you upgrade drives.
Pros: After receiving 2 faulty (intermittent searching sound and beep) Seagate 160gb drives, I decided to try the Toshiba. I’ve haven’t had any problems with it what-so-ever. The drive is just as quiet as the original Seagate 80gb that I removed.
Cons: No cons.
Overall Review: Newegg was terrific in handling both of the Seagate returns.
Pros: I put it together with this other Newegg product
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256030
and it worked like a charm. don’t forget to to format it through windows though otherwise it will not register as a drive.
Cons: I had some problems trying to initially get it into windows. Windows orignally loaded the device but never put it as a drive. I had to format the drive and then addign it adrive letter through disk management.
Overall Review: Good price/product ratio for this drive. Evidently works well as a PS3 harddrive upgrade as well as an external portable harddrive.
Pros: Works, fast, quiet and seems to run cool. Good price too.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I bought this drive to use in an external enclosure for data transfers and backups. It works perfectly.
Pros: Faster than my old 100 gig Western Digital… I damaged that though… great price for size.
Cons: (none)

Pros: I have 140GB of usable space now! Works great and this drive seems to be a little “snappier”. (300mbs -vs 150mbs from the 120GB drive). Installation is a NO BRAINER!
Open the side door, remove one small philips screw, pull handle, slide drive to the right and pull out. Remove caddy (4 screws). Reverse process to install the new drive. When you boot the PS3 it will ask to format for you. DONE!
Cons: None, I was expecting perhaps a little more heat or noise but this is not the case.
Overall Review: It costs more than the 120GB version (MK1234GSX) but it has twice the rated throughput and seems faster then the stock drive. (In this case mine was a 60GB)
