The drive’s 5,400 rpm motor speed improves system-level performance by as much as 12 percent when compared to 4,200 rpm. Pros: Apple has some great DIY instructions on their website. Replaced the meager 60gb hard drive in my Core Duo Macbook, and have since installed leopard.
Cons: None so far. Really simple install
Overall Review: newegg is great
Pros: Cheap, works great, great hard drive. Not exactly a rocket, but it outperforms almost all standard hard drives. It could be a significant leap for some of those laptops that come with slower hard drives.
Cons: None really
Overall Review: Would buy it again if I had to do it over
Pros: Very quick and reliable drive so far. I purchased an external enclosure for it and it all works good.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Use the cables that came with the drive, I been using my camera USB – mini-usb and that one can come loose and kill the drive otherwise keep a power adapter handy just in case.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Overall it is a pretty good upgrade for your PS3. After formatting you will have 97gb of free space. Installation is a breeze, it took me literally less than 5 minutes. Be very very carefull when you remove the screws, they have a tendancy to strip.
Cons: I noticed this hard drive was producing more heat than my previous 60gb hard drive. Also downloading demos and game videos from psn takes forever. But saving game data, during gameplay is about the same speed as my previous hard drive. I decided I’m going to spend some more money and get a 160gb seagate hard drive instead. 97gb and extra heat did not leave me pleased.
Overall Review: If you are going to spend money on a hard drive, get something that is worth it.
