Toshiba’s 60GB 2.5-inch hard disk drive is just 9.5 mm high and offers the ideal solution for mobile computing and consumer electronics need to deliver more power and functionality. It offers the industry’s highest areal density per platter, at 57.9 gigabits per square inch. With an 8MB cache buffer on a drive rotating at 5400RPM, it has a seek time of only 12ms, with an average latency of only 5.55ms. The SoftSonic Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motor makes it a virtually silent drive, helping to reduce vibration and heat output. It has a much lower power consumption when compared with the traditional 3.5-inch hard drives.
This remarkable drive offers enough capacity for portable video recording and editing, and is ideal storage for a range of commercial and consumer notebooks, as well as non-PC applications such as PDAs, printers, copiers, GPS systems and MP3 players. Pros: Works perfectly. Very quiet.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: RMA’d first unit (see previous review) due to problems. This unit works perfectly; it partitioned and formatted immediately with zero trouble. Too bad the first one didn’t do so well.
Pros: Quite, decent speed.
Cons: Not a 7200 RPM drive, but I knew that when buying.
Overall Review: 60gb is a marketing term. It means 60*10^9. 60 real GB would be 60*2^30.
Pros: 100 percent pros, as always exceptional service and turn around time, product well packaged and performs as intended
