Pros: Quiet and fast, seems to use less power as well
Cons: None so far
Pros: I installed the 320GB Seagate Momentus 7200.4 in my 2.4 GHz Apple uMB, and I’m getting absolutely no vibrations, nor do I hear any loud sounds, and while it gets warm, it’s not hot. It’s running great. It’s also a lot faster than the stock 250 GB, 5400 RPM Hitachi.
I’m running both OS X and Windows 7 RC on it.
Cons: None
Overall Review: As a note, you will need a T6 Torx head tool for the screws on the OEM hard drive, which you will need to transfer to your new drive. Just be careful, they are very small.
Pros: I bought 2 of these, one for my PS3 and the other for an HP DV series notebook. Neither have failed and are much quieter/cooler than the drives they replaced. I also saw a nice performance increase on both devices as well.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: PS3 Slim/HP DV6948se Notebook
Pros: 1.Fast Drive
2.Easy to install (just replace my old hdd with this one, using the same cradle)
3.Quiet than my previous stock dell hdd (hitachi 120gb 5400rpm)
4. Significantly cooler than my previous hdd (previously my 5400rpm hdd runs at 65-70c)
5. Improve boot-up time (I use Media Center XP on Dell XPS M1210 use to boot up at around 3minutes, now only under 1 minute with this new hdd)
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I’ve read alot of reviews on these internal drives before settling for this one. I believe this is the newer version compared to the Seagate Momentus 7200.3 .The performance is on the high end and I’m very pleased with my buy. It does everything that you need it to do (fast boot up time, faster operations, cool running, big space).
I didn’t end up buying the WD black version 320gb 7200rpm hdd because that was a little bit older drive than this one. I figure newer version drives are better revision of its predecessor so I pick up this one. No regrets so far.
My XPS M1210 are snappier than it used to. I’ve also installed 4gb (though XP just recognize 3.25gb of ram). One more thing, if you see that it shows 298gb of space only, it’s normal. All the drives that you are going to buy is always a little bit lower in space than it intended to be. I guess it is just how Microsoft write their software to recognize the drive.
Pros: It works well with the original MacBook. It’s big, it’s quick and the price is acceptable.
Cons: It failed to make me breakfast this morning.
Overall Review: I ordered this after a complete hard drive failure occurred in a little white MacBook. It required a funky screwdriver bit to change out the HD plate but aside from that the install was simple. Some data was lost forever but the size and speed of this drive is far superior to the stock HDD of the MacBook. I would recommend this to anyone needing a new drive for their MacBook.
Pros: Installed this into my PS3. It’s running great so far. I was worried about reliability after reading some of the customer reviews, but I haven’t experienced anything. It’s quiet – quieter than the 5400rpm 60gb Seagate that came with the PS3. Also, it is considerably faster, as well. Would highly recommend.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Fast.
Cons: It makes weird noise that bothers me so much.
It’s a high pitch mechanical noise that I cannot describe in words.
I don’t recommend this hard drive for laptop usage.
