Pros: – fast shipping
Cons: – ordered 4 drives. they were all dead on arrival.
Pros: Drives run like expected. Very satisfied.
Cons: None. They originally shipped the wrong drives but immediately reminded the situation. Very satisfied.
Pros: Fast
Cons: none really
Overall Review: This and all other Seagate Constellation drives REQUIRE 12 volt power from the SATA connector, and most if not ALL laptops do not supply 12v power through their SATA headers, only 5V power.
Therefore, even if you can physically fit a Constellation drive in your laptop, it won’t spin up because the spindle motor and servo arm magnet requires 12 volts.
Pros: I’m sure it’s a great drive.
Cons: Doesn’t fit all laptops, particularly pre unibody Macbook Pros… you’ll need to stick with a 16MB cache instead..
Overall Review: Hitachi Travelstar 500GB 16MB 7200 RPM is pretty much the best you can do unless you get a SSD which would cost you nearly $750 for 256GB
Pros: Fast, Dense, Runs cool, low foot print
Cons: High price/GB
Overall Review: Have 24 of these running in a SAN. The performance is absolutely awesome. 2U gets you 12 raw TB which is fairly dense. 4 of these in a RAID10 gives extremely good performance when doing high intensity DB calls.
Pros: GREAT DRIVE ::: I have been looking for 32MB cache drive in 2.5 form !!! AMAZIN speed and quite and FASTEST WRITE SOEED !!!! didnt I jsut say that !!!
Got 4 of these as RAID 0 (2 sets of raids 0s) and I am very happy with my laptops amazin write speed.
GIVES REAL LIFE to Windows7 x64 and V2 tech and like ….* happy happy*
NEWEGG as usual rocks !! delivery was great and price – well its always not cheap when you buy first !!! Thanks again newegg !!
Cons: ***15mm business critical drive on the market designed for enterprise reliability***
READ 15mm HIGH = not for ALL LATOPS > so pelase check and double check BEFORE YOU BUY this for laptops.

Overall Review: Most IBM/Lenovo laptop ought to be able to use this as their SECONDARY DRIVE BAY , which if you know how to switch in Bios, you can RUN as THE BOOT drive!!! Windows 7×64 I got ‘windows exper. Index = 7.0 !!!** even though am not much fan of looking at these ‘numbers/bencharmarks’ as in my view its somewhat a “MARKETING fluff!!” its a great indicator of speed of systems in some ways !!!
Pros: These drives are for NAS applications etc. From their website: “High-density, multi-spindle Tier 2/nearline storage requirements including servers and NAS, SAN and RAID storage environments”. These are good drives when used in the above scenarios.
Cons: None really.
Overall Review: I guess if you can shoehorn it into your laptop that’s cool, but not the right application.

Pros: I’m sure it’s a good drive, but it didn’t fit into my laptop’s bay.
Cons: The 2.5″ form factor is misleading, since it’s wider than a ‘regular’ notebook hard drive.
Overall Review: Perhaps this shouldn’t be listed under notebook hard drives.
