Overall Review: According to tech reports this drive has 2 platters instead of 3 and runs cooler and has a lower power draw and it is reported to have a 20% increase in performance over the M6 model. I installed this in a Mac Mini w/ 9400M and also upgraded to 4 Gigs of ram. It was a nice upgrade that helps to maintain the low power usage of the mac mini and increase performance some. if you look on toms hardware you’ll find details regarding the M7 Spinpoint series of hard drives. Newegg delivered fast and was in good condition upon arrival.

Pros: It is what it is, a good quality SATA laptop drive that works in a PS3 perfectly. And as always, Newegg got it to me so fast that I think they shipped it before I ordered it. 🙂

Cons: It’s empty when you get it. 😉

Overall Review: I wanted to make sure that PS3 owners looking to upgrade would not find fault with this drive. It went in perfectly, and created no problems in the system that now has enough room for too much PSN content.

Pros: Very cool and quiet in an external encloser. seems durable and fairly fast over USB 2.0 getting max 26mb second transfer over USB… Samsung makes great products…never had any problems with this brand.

Shock is around 350g’s while accessing data and 1000g’s idle…thats about an above normal bump on the laptop

Cons: None,…slower than a 3.5 sata drive

Overall Review: Very cool to the touch, the computer will probably produce more heat and warm the drive up inside a laptop…if it runs cool, then it will not drain your battery down as fast, maybe 20% less than a conventional 2.5 sata hard drive…

Overall Review: Like the fact that this is a cool running drive, important for an older 60gb ps3.

Pros: Ever since upgrading to Snow leopard the Head parking of my old hard drive (seagate momentus 60GB) starting driving me crazy ! I finally had enough so i decided it was time for new drive. I wanted an SSD but there way too expensive. I bought this drive and i have barely hear anything, even when i put my head against my macbook.

This is the quietest drive you can buy thats non SSD because samsung considerated on noise reduction with this drive.

No more loud head parking click noise every 5 seconds , now theres a soft tick that sounds like regular hard drive access that i can only hear when i put my ear against my mac .

Cons: i did some research and some people said samsung dosent make the most reliable drives. This is my first samsung drive so i cant comment on that.

According to samsungs website and some reviews this drive was made for durability, i dont think i will have any problems.

Wanted to say thanks to one of the other reviewers on here who also had a macbook, his review made me buy this drive.

Pros: – Runs quiet and cool
– Drive is ACTUALLY 320 gigs of free space, not 304ish
– Doesn’t click like those silly WD’s 🙂

Overall Review: Bought this to replace my 160gig macbook unibody (late 2008) stock drive. Originally bought the highly touted Scorpio Blue for the replacement but that thing started clicking within a week or so. Decided to try one of these things and have not been disappointed. Runs like a charm, no difference in battery life noticed and best of all no blasted clicking 🙂

Pros: The price was suprisingly low for a 320GB drive, Shipping was fast, Box was well packed, Dirve is extremely quiet, I used this to replace the 80GB Hard Drive in my PS3, this new samsung drive is more quiet and runs great, was packaged very well in static free bag with packing peanuts and bubble wrap, so far no problems at all and i use this thing a lot! For all my music , videos, game save data, and i media stream to it all the time, runs fast for a 5400 rpm and i must say that i am very satisfied with us, and i could honestly not beat the price, extremely happy, good hard drive = ), i also bought a sata enclosure for my old ps3 drive and im gettin ready to write a review on that!

Cons: NONE! No problems whatsoever so far and i have had this HDD almost a month now

Overall Review: I purchased the 1 year replacement for 10 bucks just to be on the safeside since i was using this for my PS3, im pretty sure i wont need to use this but it is nice to have peace of mind for 10$

Pros: Works perfectly in my PS3. Replaced original 60gb because I ran out of space.
