Pros: Works Great in my PS3, just fit right in, and worked right away!
Original PS3 HD failed, Seagate brand! and then I researched this hard drive, took a risk and it payed off. Quiet and cool, so far have no problems. It took under 4 minutes to install and PS3 saved all my online info, including Wi-Fi key. I highly recommend this drive.

Near silent…. even in a quiet room I can’t hear this thing during seek access in my daughter’s dv1700 unless I’ve got my ear an inch off the notebook’s palmrest, and then barely.

Overall Review: I stuck this in my Dell laptop, replacing the Fujitsu one I had in there. Not only is it amazingly quieter, but it runs cooler (according to hwmonitor) and is really fast.
With the Fujitsu (2120BH model), I could hear the grinding and loud click noises for the 3 years I used it. With this new Samsung drive, I can barely even hear the hdd being accessed, and with a fresh install of Windows 7, the startup, shutdown, and app loading time is great.

For being the cheapest hdd of its kind on newegg, I am very impressed. You can’t beat the price.

Pros: Bought this drive solely to act as a back-up HDD for the PS3. I have the Samsung 320GB Spinpoint M (freom NewEgg) that I put into the 60 GB PS3 so I knew I couldn’t go wrong with this drive for external use. The drive was easy to install and format with SwissKnife (PS3 needs externals to be in FAT32). I have backed up the PS3 many times now without any issues. It is whisper quiet in the Rosewill external enclosure. Great drive.

Overall Review: If you have a PS3 (any size) I would recommend using the Samsung Spinpoint M HDD’s. They have performed very well both as a replacement internal HDD and external back-up HDD. Great drives.

Pros: Cheap … garbage

Cons: Drive failed within a month. I contacted Newegg and was told that I am 1 day over the return window. Returning to Samsung is a pain. Looks like I’ll take the hit and buy another drive. Wouldn’t want to go through this again by installing another: looks like that product is a piece of garbage. I’m not the only one who seems to think so: just read the reviews. I got what I paid for.
