Comments: I bought one of these drives and I love it! I have a XXXXXXXXXXXX notebook, and I wanted a bigger hard drive after having a 30GB for 6 months. I edit video’s and play hardcore games on it and I need a place to store it. The XXXXXXX OEM drive (IBM 30GB) was quiet, but could still hear it when it was quiet. This new drive is SILENT!!! I can’t hear it when its under full load in a dead quiet room!!! The speed is awsome, I have had no problems with it, instalation was painless. Took about 5 minutes, the transfer from the old to new took a while (18 hours) but it was worth it to not have to loose anything or rebuild the computer software wise. Bottom line: This is a great hard drive, buy if you can afford it!! You will not regret it….

Comments: Today I am shopping for a new drive for a 15 month old laptop. Two of these Hitachi drives (supplied by the manufacturer of the laptop) have failed. Only buy this if you have an excellent back up system.
