Pros: Installed in my Dell XPS M1330 to replace the 120Gb 5400 rpm drive. you can notice the difference right away. Vista Home Premium now boots up about 30% faster than the last drive. Install was a snap using Acronis Migrate Easy to clone the old drive. Vista score went up from 4.9 to 5.2
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I don’t know why some other reviews said this drive gets hot. The temperature is NORMAL, no over heating at all. This drive is amazingly quiet.
Strongly recommended.
Pros: The name grabbed my attention, the product description sold me. 3rd gen. of a unit originally designed by Seagate. Straightforward Install, runs perfect, no noticable heat change.
Cons: wish they would have installed this unit versus the west. dig. scorpio that came with my laptop. laptop had extreme low use and always handled gingerly, hdd lasted 1.5 yr. was going to replace with a like West. Digital unit but fortunately for me their website is user unfreindly, Newegg website answered my question, and the Hitachi boosted my laptops performance by a large measure. I am fairly confident will last longer than 6 mos. and a year. (warranty on laptop 1 yr.)
Overall Review: Excellent price, Excellent free ship program, Kudos to you Newegg..
Pros: is silent, low power usage (lower than my samsung 5400 RPM hdd) you can notice the performance in crease right way, did not increase my performance rating on my vista laptop, but the hdd test i performed says otherwise.
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: great hdd for the price
Pros: this is a wonderful drive…..lightning fast and and a good about of space for a reasonable price.
Cons: big fat NONE
Overall Review: i got this drive for my compaq, it came with an 80gig 5400 8mb cache Serial ATA harddrive in it…..so needless to say this one made a considerable difference.
Pros: Installed into my Dell XPS M1330, replaced a Hitachi 120GB 5400RPM drive; performance gains immediately noticed. Does NOT get hot at all, right now it is at 35 C after my computer being on for at least 9 hours. Very fast and quiet; I can barely hear it access data, and only when there is no other sound in the room.
Cons: None
Pros: Fast. A good deal faster than the 5200RPM Fujitsu stock hard drive that came in my 2.1 GHz MacBook when I bought it. Files copy noticably faster. It feels like a minor processor upgrade! Only slightly more noisy – not a problem at all. It’s only about 1-2 degrees hotter than the Fujitsu: According to my iStat widget, its currently running 31 deg. C under a normal load for me (iTunes, web, word processing, iChat, and Garageband). 160 GB capacity is nice for me.
Cons: Uses slightly more battery power. My battery life drops quickly enough thats it’s a noticable difference over what it was before, but it’s a fair trade-off for the speed increase. I went ahead and bought the 2-year replacement plan along with my order – you never know how durable hard drives are these days.
Overall Review: Worthy investment/upgrade.
Pros: Fast drive, doesn’t produce much heat than an original 5400rpm it replaced. Performance on the laptop was fast, apps run faster and pc boot time was cut by 40%.
Cons: None at his time
Overall Review: Used this drive to upgrade from a stock 5400rpm hd on a dell 1505E. Love the fact that this hd is power conscious and doesnt hog up to much energy when left on idle.

Pros: 2.5″ SATA drive with 7200 RPM is a great deal for the price and works well with item: N82E16817145030 (USB 2.0 SATA enclosure)
Great transfer rates as well, no noise.
In a USB 2.0 enclosure, this thing works smooth, no vibrations and is virtually non-existent when it comes to noise and weight.
Cons: Gets a little toasty when used with high read/writes but that’s expected for the paces that i put it through, still i’d like it to be more warm than hot.
Overall Review: I use mine to run virtual machines and they are pretty intense on the I/O.
Windows Vista Ultimate shows the DISK io to be high yet the throughput is still rated with transfer rates of app 16MBps to 21MBps
I’ll get two more and replace the two Seagate 120GB 7200 drives that came with my HP laptop.
