Pros: Cheap 100gb laptop SATA HD
Cons: It’s a little loud even with NHC and setting it to quiet mode.
Pros: This 100gb Hard drive is the perfect addition to my Macbook Core Duo 2.0. Install was a breeze, it’s truly way too easy. Macbook recognized without a hitch and I was reinstalling the OS and all the apps in no time.
Cons: None!
Overall Review: If you own a Macbook Core Duo and you want a larger hard drive, here is your winner! Don’t pay more elsewhere, do you and your Macbook a favor and get this one!
Pros: I replaced my stock 60G HD on my MacBook with this one. It’s so quiet, smooth, and works just perfect!!!! Definetely worth it.
Cons: I heard the mooning twice. Never again.
Pros: Replaced the OEM 60GB Fujitsu Drive in my Macbook. Installed easily, works great. If .you bought a Macbook with the 60GB drive, you’ll want to upgrade it. Don’t upgrade through Apple. You can save the stock drive as an external if you buy an SATA enclosure.
Cons: None
Pros: I bought this to replace the 60GB hard drive that shipped with my MacBook. Works perfectly with it. It’s quiet, fast, and has all the storage I need.
Cons: None!
Overall Review: Get this hard drive. It provides the most bang for the buck.
Pros: I’ve had this HDD running nearly every day for 5 years with no issues at all. And that includes running Einstein@home all day when I’m not using the machine.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Looking to replace it before it does fails. I know it’s overdue.
Pros: Very easy to install, relatively easy RMA process (should that be a pro?), decent performance when working…
Cons: After 3 months, HD failed, Hitachi sent a replacement, which also failed after 5 months. The problem seems to be with the HD and not the comp, as the computer’s original HD lasted 9 months with no problems…
Overall Review: I wanted this to be a good hard drive, however two bad eggs within 8 months of each other lead me to believe that it’s quality is suspicious.

Pros: Great drive at a great price, and an extremely easy replacement for the MacBook HDD. There were no cables to attach, nothing to configure. Just popped it in, restored an image from my old drive, and it was up and running in no time.
Cons: A little bit more “presence” than the stock Toshiba drive, meaning that you can hear it quietly seeking. It’s not absolutely silent, but really close.
Overall Review: A guide on how to swap out the HDD on a MacBook (w.o resintalling)
1) boot off the installation CD and run Disk Utility
2) create a disk image from the existing HDD to a USB/FW drive
3) swap the new HDD into the MacBook
4) Boot again from install CD, then Disk Util to format new drive.
5) Close Disk Util and run Terminal and use the “asr restore” command image onto the new HDD. Reason being is that Disk Utility gui is broken on the Install CD, so restores are impossible.
