Cons: smaller size makes it a challenge in some machines

Overall Review: For everyone having problems installing this in a 1545, it does work, but due to the nature of the frame and the thinner drive, it takes a little finesse to get it into the machine right. What is happening is the drive is going under the connector not into it. I taped the frame to the connector end of the hard drive, stood the laptop upright with the drive slot facing up. You then slide the drive in slowly and it will make the connection. You can also take the palmrest off of the machine and guide it in visually.

Pros: Works Perfectly fine, is quiet and comes with a nice 3 year warranty.

Cons: The new 7 mm size doesn’t fit in the new Dell Inspiron 1545 and I am pretty sure any kind of hard drive enclosure that has a slide in hard drive connection.

Overall Review: I’m not downing this product but its just frustrating to have to order another one because of their new slick design, just beware if your hard drive slides in and out it probably wont fit it unless u pull one of these out originally.

Pros: Replaced my old 7200 RPM drive with this single platter 5400 RPM drive for a quieter experience. The drive is indeed quiet enough such that at a working distance away from the drive in a quiet room, the spinning of the drive is barely audible — not silent but it’s very quiet. No vibration.

I am satisfied with its speed; I don’t feel like it’s slower than my 7200 rpm drive. I’d rather have quiet than a slightly faster drive nowadays.

Cons: The seek noise is actually louder on this drive than with my old drive. I don’t mind however, since most of the time, the hard drive is not seeking. The loudness may also be because the thinner, 7 mm height leaves a resonant space in the hard drive bay of my laptop.

Overall Review: This is a really nice drive I bought to replace a bad drive on my wife’s Dell Inspiron. Note that this drive is only 7mm thick; for this computer, you need to make sure you engage the SATA connection. (Unlike me the first time!) You can’t go wrong with it!

Cons: When drive would not boot after loading windows, I ran windows bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /rebuildbcd
I discovered there was a previous version of windows on the drive. It was to a chinese company, “ECS Elite Group”:
Also found a boot sector virus (Aleuron).
Date of manufacture on label was June 2011.

Even after clearing the Aleuron boot virus and clearing the mbr, drive still only boot intermittently. Fails Crystal disk info smart drive health check.

Pros: Small size

Cons: Have had 12 ASUS Eebox units for barely over a year and now have had two of these drives crash.

Pros: None

Cons: Malfunctioned from the beginning. Diagnostics never saw a problem, but noise and delays and crashes nonetheless.

Overall Review: Came with a K53E laptop so I couldn’t get service. Threw it out and replaced it.

Pros: Haven’t had a single bad sector since I got my ASUS X401A1 laptop in 2012 as a gift. It does run hot but not overly and I sometimes run it for days at a time, online gaming mostly. Does what it should, the way it should with no problems. Also run spreadsheets w/ no hitches.

Cons: None.
