Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: As always NewEgg was a pleasure to work with, fast shipping and willing to RMA all hard drives.
Cons: I ordered 6 total, 5 of them were DOA. 2 has shorts in them, would kill the machine immediatly after being inserted. 3 were unable to be detected by the controller. (Dell PowerEdge 1800 Server) Dell sent me a replacement backplane, scsi card, and scsi cable, that didn’t fix the problem so it’s the hard drives for sure.
Overall Review: Use a different brand. (I also have the 74GB Hitachi 10K rpm scsi drives, those work like a charm)

Pros: Very fast drive. Peaks at 100 MB sec on HdTach, with 6 sec random seek. To put that into perspective, my WD Special edition peaks at 50mb a sec and 12 sec random seek time
Cons: Hard to set up, but then that’s more of a controller card issue. Was getting 40 MB a sec until I enabled disconnect.
