Pros: Fast, easy to install lots of space as a primary boot drive. 2 types of power connectors.
Cons: None
Overall Review: OEM devices don’t include things that retail devices do, so if you want to save money get one. If you don’t want to bother ordering additional cables and screws, then your better off getting the retail version.
Pros: Very fast drive despite the low cache. Vista x64 gives it a 5.7 out of 5.9. Very reliable in my high end gaming machine and my media center pc powering my 42 HDTV which runs 24/7, over a year now with this HDD constantly writing and erasing for the time shift and DVR functions. Performance is outstanding!!
Cons: NONE!
Overall Review: Hitachi Drives Are The Best!!
Pros: Great price.
Cons: Bought two of these to build pvr’s with. First drive died within hours of putting it in the machine. No noise, no symptoms, just disappeared from BIOS after working fine for about half a day. The second drive started making clicking noises after a day or so, then died a horrible, dramatic, Hollywood B-western style death.
Overall Review: I’ve used Hitachi’s before without trouble (the venerable Deskstar line), but these were either junk or I just caught a tech on a bad day. Never had to return anything to Newegg before, so I’m hoping they live up to their stellar reputation.
Pros: Out of two of these drives ordered initially, one has worked great.
Cons: Out of two of these drives ordered initially, one came completely defective, making a curious alarm noise upon powering up for the first times and not posting to the BIOS.
Overall Review: I have not had good experience with Hitachi drives in general.
Pros: It works great, had it about a year, price was the same back then also. It is a lot quieter then my seagate HD.
Cons: The cable was a little short for my case, so I got a longer one. Drive like all others are less then listed, about 232GB.
Overall Review: It works fine of course.
Pros: So this hard drive has worked perfectly. transfer rate on this hard drive is great.
Cons: none for me.
Pros: I bought this drive over the T7K250 since I read that the Hard drive has a higher density plate making it faster(supposedly). I’m kinda afraid that it will die since I’ve been reading so many bad reviews, but it’s working as a Secondary Hard Drive great.
Cons: It sometimes makes some barely audible sounds (grinding or clicking, whatever hard drives sounds like.)I hope this isn’t bad.
