Pros: Easy and clean install, No Blemishes, Shiny…looks fantastic, very nice drive. Getting another to run RAID……Price-Performance….SPOT ON!!! It’s pretty quite also.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Deathstar as in it Kills everything I throw at it. Install went SMOOTH!! MOBO recognized everything right away. This is my third Hitachi deskstar drive including an older 80g I’ve had running over 3years. I’m sure I’d be happy with something else…..But I haven’t gone wrong with Hitachi.
Pros: Virtually noiseless operation. Does not vibrate as other HDs I have (4 other HDs in the system). VERY LOW heat emission. This is the coolest running HD I’ve ever had.
Cons: Made in (you know where) – I don’t know if it matters for the quality though.
Overall Review: This replaced a failing Seagate as the boot drive. 3 years warranty is a plus compared to Samsung’s 1 year warranty.
Pros: Own 3 320 GB Deskstars in a RAID 5 array. I run 24/7 and my drives rarely get to spin down. Haven’t had a problem yet.
Cons: They’re not free.
Overall Review: As always, Newegg has fast shipping and EXCELLENT customer service.
Pros: Barely gets hot, even in a SFF case.
Cons: Doesn’t have a molex connector like the older models. All configurations are through software.
Overall Review: This is my forth Hitachi and all have performed well. Only problem was one that got abnormally hot, but that one is still running after a year of heavy use.
Pros: I bought it when it was $49 with free shipping. Came in 2 days.
Cons: DOA. I RMA’d it and they didn’t have anymore so they gave me a refund.
Overall Review: 3 stars because I understand DOA happens and newegg was great about it. I have since ordered a 500GB Seagate at $69 with free shipping. I wanted to give the smaller name brand a try and was willing to take the RMA replacement, it just didn’t happen this time.
Pros: Fast, quiet, umm shiny?! thing works like a charm. Just throwing this out there for other people, don’t forget you have to format this drive before it will be recognized by anything.
Cons: nothing it came here in a day even though i did 3 day shipping. Extremely fast.
Overall Review: I don’t know about you up top saying vista gave it a 5.8 because it gave mine a 5.9.
Pros: Runs cooler than my other SATA drives and is a bit quieter as well. The P7K500 uses higher density platters than the T7K series and runs on less power (switching in stead of linear tregulators). Apparently it works.
Cons: Access time is a bit slower on this lower power drive than on non-“Green” drives per the Spec’s. I haven’t noticed a difference in daily use. Benchmarks are lower than my raptors, but you can cook dinner on those.
Overall Review: Bought for a SFF where heat and noise are the primary concerns. Given the price/performance/heat/power, I’d definitely buy again. Bought two during the twenty clams off sale with free shipping. This is one very happy camper!

Pros: Works as its supposed to, right out of the box. No issues at all. I heard about Hitachi being the worst, but I dont see it. If anything, I think its the best hdd I have in there right now (2 WDs, 2 Maxtors, 2 Seagates)
Cons: NONE, BUY IT…. Great for the money.
