Pros: Surprisingly fast, a single platter and noticeably lightweight for a desktop HD.
Cons: IDE interface only;
Overall Review: This inexpensive product adds tremendous new performance life to an old PC.
Pros: It works fine. It’s been running for a month and a half and access time is noticeably better than the old drive.
Cons: None for me.
Overall Review: This drive was a good replacement for my old OEM Samsung.
Pros: Neweggs return policy. Always call, email or chat with Newegg and they will issue you a prepaid UPS label and waive any restocking fees for DOA / defective items. I read reviews all the time with complaints about having to pay return shipping for such items and it doesn’t have to be that way.
Cons: Two defective drives in a row. The first mangaed to last long enough to have XP installed and most of my data transferred before chkdsk began reporting massive errors, the click of death began and then finally it was no longer visible to the computer. The second never made it past the format stage of installing XP before being reported as unable to format due to errors and the click of death began.
Overall Review: Hitachi should be ashamed.
Pros: A great upgrade opportunity for those older non-sata PC’s.
Cons: none
Pros: It Works
Cons: It Works, So Now I have to Work
Pros: Very fast ATA133 interface. The drive is also very quiet.
Cons: This drive is made in China.
Pros: Reasonably priced ATA drive
Cons: Arrived making loud noises, but no errors. After running Hitachi Drive Fitness Test overnight, it finally generated S.M.A.R.T. errors and was failing.
Overall Review: You would think Hitachi would remove the name DeskStar from it’s line of drives since many still recall the IBM DeathStar and the click of death. This is my first Hitachi purchase ever, I might not order one again.

Pros: Surprisingly fast. The fastest ATA HDD I’ve ever had the privilege of using. Boot times are almost as good as the modern SATA II HDD in my main computer. Inexpensive, had a motherboard that actually supported ATA133, decided I would take advantage of it.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Replaced a dead Maxtor 120GB HDD in my old rig.
Keep in mind its OEM. That means no cables, no software, just the HDD in an ESD bag in bubble wrap.
