Pros: This is an awesome drive, i’ve owned it for around a year now, and it still works like a champ. I also have a maxtor 250G that is about the same age, and it is continually making louder clicking noises each time it spins up. I expect the maxtor to fail soon. This hitachi is so quiet. I have to mute my tv to even hear it spin up. Hitachi is now the only brand of HDD i will buy. Thanks Newegg!

Cons: it is a secondary storage drive in my system, and not in constant use. when i do access it, it takes between 1-3 seconds to spin up and respond. some may see this as a plus, because it has great efficiency in sleeping itself when not in use. this is definately a very minor con.

Pros: Very fast in load up times. The benchmarks for these are outstanding. I had this for 5 months now and own 2. Computer boots on the fly and no problem. Lowtemps

Comments: Just built a system for video editing. Had bought one of these on Exxx a month or so ago (before I knew about NEWEGG) Bought the other here for my raidO set for less with faster shipping. They run quiet and has more room than my garage.
Oh yea for the first time NEWEGG got it here when they said they would (All my other orders have been a day or two EARLY).

Comments: I’ve been using 4 of these drives in a Raid5 configuration using a Broadcom BC4852(http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16816125005) 8 port SATA raid card in a Dell 1600SC server board (64 bit PCIx 100 slot). The combination gives me INCREDIBLE performance. Huge directories that my old server would choke on now list out almost immediately. I just bought one more drive to add to the array (yes the BC4852 supports online Raid expansion). Great drives, great Raid card. Thanks NewEgg!

Comments: bought one of these about two months ago and just built a system to put it in. i have to say this is a good HDD from hitachi, but it is a bit noisy. i have read other peoples reviews that say it is quiet. i must have gotten the unquiet version of this drive……lol anyway good product. and of couse newegg is awesome no one else compares to them!
