Pros: These Drives are awesome! Super Fast, I didnt have to make any jumper setting changes, and I have two in my system and I love the improvement in speak thanks to the 8mb Cache! I highly recommend it!

Pros: None for me, buyer beware as another reviewer had the same luck as I did.

Cons: I got the first drive and it had the heads crashing and a very loud screeching noise. Got the replacement drive, it also had head crash. This is with only hooking up the power connector, not even the IDE cable. I do a lot of computer repair work, so I always only hook up the power first to make sure the drive spins up properly. If it does, then I get a new cable and go from there. .

Overall Review: I have now spent an extra $20 in return shipping and am awaiting my third replacement. I noticed this time I am getting a different model number as the replacement. It is a little more expensive so hopefully it is a little better build quality. It sucks thinking back to the IBM days of very reliable storage and getting this kind of garbage. Also shipping has been with UPS and the boxes have been roughly handled. Pay the extra couple of dollars and go FEDEX.

Pros: Like all Hitachi drives, these are flat out reliable. 3 year warranty. I’ve been reselling these for several years and love the reliability.

Cons: Not free.

Overall Review: Drives and Power Supplies are your two most frequently failing parts. I buy for reliability and warranty.

Pros: Great price, easy to install and it works! A decent upgrade for an old Dell 2400 office machine, add a 1 gb stick of RAM and the machine works as good as our new computers!

Cons: It’s a little louder than some of our other harddrives.

Pros: Working perfectly. Using this to install games on in my primary machine.

Pros: Installed easily, jumpers set to CS by default, not nearly as noisy as my OEM Samsung drive.

Cons: One of but 4 ATA 133 drives that Newegg carried at the time of my order.

Cons: Garbage. This drive will not format;not even utilizing Hitachi’s own software.Unfortunately I waited 6 weeks before installing the drive and cannot take advantage of the 30 day return policy offered by Newegg. No fault on their part; just another quality product “Made in China”. It goes out in the recyclable trash tomorrow.

Pros: I have six of these drives installed in 3 systems Raid5 (3) Raid0(2) standalone (1). Some have been running 1+ years. I have had zero problems with this product. The drives have been fast and reliable for me.

Cons: Before installation you should visit the Hitachi Global Storage site. Download and burn to CDs two .iso files. Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (DFT) and Feature Tool (FT). FT is necessary to set drive features such as enable SATA 2. The iso files create bootable CDs.
