Comments: Probably just an aberation in a good product line, but mine screamed in agony as it adamently refused to partition.
Happily, I bought it from NewEgg with their friendly RMA policy.
Comments: I bought two 3 month ago and I think that not exist other HD better than these.
Comments: Purchased a second one of these 180s from Newegg in July. Using as additional drive for videos. Still going strong.
Comments: Had one since February, am about to order another. Nearly silent, but still good performance…a better compromise than the Barracuda’s IMHO.
Comments: HD Speed: Fast! (#1 for speed on PCWorld.com’s top 10 HD ratings chart).
HD Quality: TBA, I bought the extended warrenty just-in-case.
Great drive so far.
Ordered this HD last week (Monday). Shipped Fed-Ex Super Saver, got here last Wednesday (Wow!).
I bought the Deskstar IBM 40GB three years ago, and it’s been fantastic.
Comments: I got this drive based on reveiws in Maximum pc It beat the western digital and the Maxtor. Then I got the drive Installed MS XP pro and it came up with only 132 gig windows xp only recognizes that much without tweaking. use partition magic to partition rest of the space and you’ll be good to go. this drive was like a 200-300 mhz Processor boost
Comments: I purchased this drive a few months ago. At the time my system only supported up to ata100. When I tried the drive in a coulple of systems I was building that had support for ata133 the drive was seen as ata100. Don’t get me wrong, I like this drive and I am glad I purchased it. I am using it as a dv capture scratch drive and it has and is working well. I highly recommend it unless your system supports sata. In which case, I would get an sata drive.

Comments: This is the drive that Apple uses for their 180GB drive module for the XServe. We’ve been running it in a mirrored RAID configuration for about 10 months. Today, I just got a notice from the system monitor that the drive went bad. Luckily, I had 2 backup drives to rebuild the RAID volume with.
