Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. In order to achieve better performance, you need to add more voltage. This is a low voltage memory kit, so there is room to raise voltage and performance at the same time. Of course with default voltage the memory won’t budge much, it’s rated for DDR3-1333 CL9 1.50V.
The memory is cool and not running hot at all because you did not raise voltage. You are not overclocking or pushing the memory, so it’s operating nice and cold. With regards to heat spreaders, this memory does clear most aftermarket CPU coolers, so the height is fine. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.
Thank you

Pros: Works fine at rated speed. No compatibility probs with ASUS H67 board. Nice price.
Cons: “Cool looking” memory heatsink is taller than necessary which could cause clearance issues in some cramped installations.
Overall Review: This memory went into a business computer build that was my most painless build ever. No glitches whatsoever during the buildup.
Pros: I’m sticking with GSKILL when I buy RAM from now on. I’ve been using them in several builds lately and they just perform.
Cons: wait…. wait…… nope nothing coming to mind
Overall Review: not only good performers, but good looking too.
Pros: My first time buying G.SKILL ram, but I must say I am impressed. Fast, works, and looks nice too.
Cons: None.
Pros: Probably the 5th set of G.Skill ram I’ve purchased….never any problems with any of them. They always work fine and pass memtest+.
Cons: Ram prices, what I paid a year ago vs. what I paid two days ago. [sigh]
Overall Review: Will definitely continue to go to G.Skill for ram needs in the future (as well as Kingston, Corsair, Patriot and Crucial). Stick with those brands and you’ll never have problems.
Pros: It did work pretty well (at first)
Cons: One of the sticks failed 2 days after the 30 day warranty. From what I heard though, it’s uncommon and I’m just extremely unlucky.
Overall Review: Works pretty well as far as RAM goes.
If either of the sticks do fail for whatever reason, LITERALLY everything goes wrong. Like, Windows wouldn’t install/update, drivers wouldn’t install/update, bluescreen (atleast 3 times a day), ect.
Other than that^ mess, it’s decent RAM.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please send the memory in for RMA and a new kit should work flawlessly. All G.Skill memory kits are backed by a lifetime warranty. At any point a module is causing problems, we can send you replacement memory. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your system should be back up in no time. Should you have any further questions or issues, feel free to contact us directly.

Pros: Great for Sandy Bridge CPU’s
Runs at specs
Cons: Heat Sinks are high. If you have a small motherboard with a big heatsink that overhangs above the ram slots check the clearance.
Pros: Bought 2 sets of 2x4gb, popped them into my mobo and they worked perfectly. No adjustments or tweaks needed.
Cons: Labelled Intel specific – I initially requested an RMA when I read this on the packaging since the last time that I bought RAM that was optimized for Intel chipsets they didn’t work in my AMD set-up and I was out 140$.
Overall Review: This is my second set of G Skill Ripjaws and I plan on buying this brand again in future builds.

Pros: Both sticks work, they’re look pretty cool, cost $55 bucks and came with a 4gb stick(at the time). Hard to beat that, hard to even knock it.
Cons: NOT overclocking ram. After literally hours of trying various speeds, timings and voltages, the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM speed I can get out of these is 1600 at 9-9-9 at stock voltage. Won’t even load at 1866, even with the highest timings the motherboard would allow and .35v over. Won’t load at 1600 with 8-8-8 at all either.
Also, the heatspreaders(while cool looking) don’t appear to be very effective. Seems like no matter what I do to the memory the sticks are only ever lukewarm to the touch. Maybe ddr3 ram just runs cooler, but why even have them if it never gets hot at all? Or as another poster said, make them shorter so we can fit them in slot 1 without it hitting the cpu cooler.
Overall Review: I mean, it’s great ram..it really is. But half the fun of building PC’s for me is tweaking them to get every last ounce of performance out of them, and there was just no room to move on these.
