Pros: Just wanted to share that I bought one of these in 2010, and it still works with no problems today! (Oct 2014)
Cons: None – good stuff!
Overall Review: Man… memory sure was cheaper back then!
Pros: G-Skill quality and reliability.
2 x 4GB is plenty for normal home use.
Cons: RAM modules with tall heat sink fins may interfere with fitting a tower cooler on your cpu. To be fair, the fins on this G-Skill RAM are not as tall as some so they offer minimal interference.
Overall Review: After plugging in the two sticks of memory, go into BIOS setup screen and select “XMP” to boost memory speed from motherboard’s default 1333MHz to the memory’s rated speed of 1600MHz, no problem.
Previously, this PC had 4GB of RAM. Now & then a “warning: low memory” message would appear if i had a couple of apps running plus numerous web pages open in Chrome browser. That issue was resolved with this new 8GB capacity.
Also, previous memory was 1333 MHz. Now, there are a couple of resource-heavy apps and games that feel a little bit snappier, a little faster. Nothing dramatic, but still welcome !
Pros: Value seems to be the main reason for this setup.
Cons: None
Overall Review: For most Newegg purchasers this will likely work great for you, you know about tech. This as with all RAM is super easy to install. It comes with some absurd heatsinks but that’s the trend. It works as expected and will likely continue to do so for the duration of this machine. Speedy nicely timed RAM without the need to tweak.
Pros: cheap with decent timings
Cons: none.
Overall Review: if you want memory for anything other than a utility /internet machine pay the little bit extra to get the ripjaws with tighter timing (8-8-8-24).
Pros: I am a huge fan of G.SKILL RAM. I have this 16GB kit installed in my Windows 7 64-bit DCC workstation. Works great with all of my design and animation apps – super fast in conjunction with my Crucial M4 256 primary SSD. Recommended!
Cons: None.
Pros: Works. Easy install.
Cons: No cons noted.
Overall Review: Was concerned about height, but am using a Cooler Master V8 and there is no conflict.
Pros: RAM Installed flawlessly (Plug n’ Play)
Timings were picked up by motherboard- no manual configuration needed.
Running 2 sets of these (4x2gb)
Cons: Different colors for the heatspreaders would be nice.
Overall Review: G.Skill is definitely transitioning into one of the best memory manufactures on my list. Thank You for your products!
