Pros: I got this stick for free with my MSI FM2-A85XA-GD65 motherboard. That’s really the only pro besides a lifetime warranty.
Cons: It only got a 7.3 WEI rating. The biggest con is that with identical 2x4GB sticks, I always get 7.4 with an A10 trinity chip and a kit of 2×4 is the same price is cheaper than this one. There is literally no reason to buy this single stick.
On my rather expensive and overclocking-oriented motherboard, it blue screened with a RAM-related error while testing with PRIME 95 at a mere 102MHz base board speed (around 30MHz higher net RAM speed). I’ve never seen Gskill do quite that poorly. Usually most from this line are good up to 2000MHz without even touching the voltage. This stick seems on the edge already, which makes me worry about it failing over time.
Overall Review: I’ve never had a problem with Gskill in over 100 systems I built, this stick just isn’t a good choice at all.
We are sorry to hear you are not fully satisfied with the memory kit. This is a high capacity, high speed memory kit so it should be perfect for your new FM2 build. The reason why a single 8GB module scored less than two 4GB modules with the WEI is because a single module can only run in single channel mode. Two modules are necessary for dual channel, optimal performance. So once you get another module to pair with this 8GB, WEI will be improved. With regards to overclocking, it can vary with each memory kit, but rest assured all G.Skill modules can achieve good overclocking results. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Pros: Good speed and timings. Had no issues getting it to work. Was able to get it to 1866, but have no real need for that, so I kept it at 1600.
Cons: A little tall, but the CPU cooler still cleared, so not a big deal.
Overall Review: 16 GB is probably more than I need, but oh well.
Pros: – Looks great
– Runs cool
– BIOS recognized stock timings on first boot
Cons: None so far. All 16GB works out of the box no issues.
Overall Review: Glad I got them on sale, sold out!
Pros: Got this to use with my FX-8350, MSI 990FXA-GD65v2 and Radeon 7850’s in Crossfire. Looks very nice, and runs rock solid when underclocking the RAM to 1333Mhz.
Cons: On all my machines this RAM would not run at the advertised speed I tried everything possible with the Timing and Voltage(all within reason) and nothing could get this RAM stable at 1600Mhz. Thinking it was the board I tried this on my i7 3770k/Gigabyte Z77/GTX670-SLI machine, with the same issues, it’s not stable at the Rated speed. Tried again on my 2600k/P67/Radeon 7930-Crossfire machine and this RAM is NOT STABLE AT THE ADVERTISED SPEED. No matter what motherboard I used, I have to run this at 1333mhz to get it stable. I might as well of gotten 1333mhz RAM. Also, I don’t understand why they have to make the memory so freaking tall. It completely limits either the heatsink you put on your CPU or the amount of Ram you can put in your system. I’m using a Corsair A50(similar to the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ in dimensions) and I have to use slots 2 and 4 for RAM as this ludicrously tall RAM can’t fit under the heatsink. I blame the RAM…Clocking an FX up to 4.8Ghz needs a nice heatsink, but putting stupid tall heatsink on RAM that not only doesn’t get hot at the rated speed, but can’t even run at the rated speed is just a stupid idea. This is one thing that has to stop in this industry, their is no reason to have such stupidly tall heat-sinks on RAM.
Overall Review: I’ve bought tons of RAM in the past, Corsair, Mushkin, AllData, Avexir and G.Skill. I came to the realization today, that only G.Skill RAM has failed. I looked into my drawer of single-ram sticks that work but had the other one fail and guess what? They were mostly G.Skill. The price may be attractive, and the RAM looks pretty, but I’m going to stay away for a long time from G.Skill.
We can surely help you with reaching the rated specifications of the RAM. If you believe the memory does not work to specification, test them individually to see if one module can pass. If one module works fine while the other does not, please send them in for RMA exchange and a replacement kit should work flawlessly. If both modules test fine at the rated specifications, they should be able to work together. For the Intel systems, simply enable the XMP Profile in BIOS/EFI, then everything is ready to go. For AMD systems, enable DOCP or EOCP and the RAM should be ready to go. With regards to heat spreader height, the RipJaws X series is 38mm tall and they will clear most aftermarket CPU coolers including the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Pros: -The stick that works is doing its job as advertised
-Looks slick and gives you warm fuzzy feelings
-Very easy to install and just remember to go into bios to make it 1600 (if you don’t it will run at 1333) and then release your inner nerd.
Cons: -One of the sticks doesn’t work, but nobody can be perfect
Overall Review: -Bought this kit for my little brother and the one stick that works is making him happy even without a full 16gb
-I will recommend this product to friends and family. I feel like I just drew the short straw this time. This probably isn’t a usual occurrence so take this review with a grain of salt

Pros: I purchased these ram sticks on a combo deal during black-friday week of 2012 and they still run great in 2015. (I got an amazing deal of 53 dollars after taxes (CA. USA). Reliable 2x8gb (16gb) sticks.
Cons: Might be too bulky for some.
Overall Review: I had to tear off one of the metal heat dispensing frames for one of my ram sticks because It was colliding with my new cpu heatsink cooler. Just used a screw driver to pry it at the top area, never touched the PCB with anything besides my gloves. (Ram does not get that hot, Peripheral fans cool enough)
Pros: All 4 sticks are working @ 1600
Fits the Noctua NH-D14.
Using with the ASRock X79 Extreme6 and Xeon E5-2660.
Cons: Minor – had to manually set the speed.

Pros: I have 16GB of this RAM installed in two of my PC workstations. Never had a problem with any of these modules. Excellent price/performance ratio. I believe I bought these for around $80-$85 at the time. Amazing deal for 16GB of RAM.
Cons: None.
