Pros: Works great for Sandy Bridge systems. Originally I bought Mushkin Redline 996805 for my build but they kept giving me errors because the voltage runs at 1.65. I have used Crucial before on my laptop and I thought I’d give them a try again. I put them in and they booted right away and all my memory errors were gone and no more hard drive corruption.
But like another reviewer said, don’t be fooled by this ram because it doesn’t have any heatspreaders. These ram sticks run super cool unlike my Redlines and are very high quality. I’m happy with this purchase.
Cons: No heat spreaders but you don’t need them for this memory because they run super cool.
Overall Review: I recommend using 1.5v memory to avoid any problems with Sandy Bridge systems.
Intel Core i7 2500K
Asus P8P67 Pro
Pros: For everyone that buys memory from vendors other than Crucial and Corsair, you get what you pay for. I’ve been going with those two for over 10 years. Not a single bad chip DOA. I have had one go about 2-3 years ago, and the vendor replaced it w/o issue.
Cons: Never.
Overall Review: For a couple of bucks more, I’ll always buy the best rather than have a memory issue that’s hard to track down the line.
Pros: Works
Cons: none
Overall Review: works great on Dell optiplex 990 machine
Pros: Bought this as a desktop replacement for a pre-built Compaq system, works flawlessly in dual-channel. Ran current versions of MemTest86 and MemTest86+ each for over 8 hours with no errors.
Cons: None at all.
Overall Review: Bought this to replace a previous Corsair upgrade which slowly failed over the course of a week or so, causing random BSODs and other problems. The Corsair was actually more expensive and had fancy heat spreaders. This ram runs the exact same timings that the Corsair did, and doesn’t fail in the process. Don’t let the lack of heat spreaders keep you from buying this RAM, it runs nice and cool.
Pros: Already wrote a review earlier.
So happy that I ordered second batch of 8GB set ==> now own 16GB of this memory.
Go back in history and find my earlier review, it is Crucial, enough said.
I used to swear by Corsair. They’re still my choice if I needed for a balance gaming performance & reliability.
But that was years ago. SInce then we switched to Crucial for utmost reliability in server, work/professional environment. No more games for me and what I care about is data integrity & hardware compatibility, Crucial for memory is as crucial as Intel for microprocessors.
Cons: none
Pros: 8 gb of RAM just put it in and go
Cons: none, never any issues with Crucial
Overall Review: Crucial may not always be the cheapest and this has no BIG flashy heat sinks but it just works as advertised. I use Crucial almost exclusively I currently have 4 systems up and running with it in them. I usually dont’t see it on the approved list for the mobo but like I said I have never had a problem. I have it in a Biostar, ASUS, ECS, & MSI mobo. It is truely good quality.
Pros: -Easy to Install
-Low Profile
-It Works
Cons: -Low Profile means they look less than futuristic, other RAM sticks look cooler with heat syncs and such.
Overall Review: I bought a pair to upgrade from 4gb to 8gb. I installed the new pair, but the PC would not start, so I put the old pair back in. Then I tried the exact same thing again and the PC fired up, now showing 8gb and performing noticeably better. So, I ordered one more pair to finally max-out my MOBO (M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3) at 16gb. Funny thing is, when I went to install the second pair, it did exactly the same thing…I had to put the new ones in to no avail, take them back out, then put them back in to get the PC to fire up and recognize the upgrade. It is all good now though. 16gb of RAM for less than $145 is pretty awesome!

Pros: It’s stable and fast enough; Don’t let the modest packaging and “lack” of heat spreaders fool you.
I successfully installed this in an ‘ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3’ motherboard, with a 4-core Athlon II it scored 7.4 in Windows.
Also, it overclocked just fine. It’s basically DDR3 1600, but it’s under-rated by Crucial to insure perfect stability.
Cons: None.
Perhaps I should say something witty here?
Overall Review: I chose this Crucial kit because Tom’s Hardware tested this RAM at speeds up to DDR1900 at 1.65 volts, competing with some of the higher-priced gamer RAM.
If you are looking to get lots of RAM, with potential for overclocking, this is a great product.
