Pros: For the week or so that it worked, it was great. The replacement I ordered when it suddenly stopped working has been great as well.
Cons: – the company does not properly record serial numbers
– new egg does not properly record serial numbers
Overall Review: The first lap top I ordered suddenly stopped working. It shut off in the middle of a Zoom call and never rebooted. I charged overnight, etc., nothing working. I requested a replacement. They sent one, I used the box the new one came in to send the old one back.
I received a call saying that the laptop I sent back was not one Newegg had sent me. That’s impossible because I only had one kind of this laptop and I only ordered from Newegg. They found the order but had a different serial number. They said they contacted the manufacture who confirmed they never sent Newegg that serial number laptop. I know that’s impossible, or someone at the warehouse switched it either with the manufacturer or at Newegg. They said it was brand new and had never been returned so there is no possible way that laptop ever came from Newegg. Except, it did. I didn’t have it that long, I didn’t have another laptop like that, it’s not like I mixed it up with a different laptop, it has to match or Newegg or the manufacturer did something funny. I offered to do a three way call, I asked them to double check. They were incredibly rude. They believe I purchased an identical laptop from somewhere else and tried to return it, which I’m sure does happen, but if it’s such a prevalent problem, then customers should be given a notice to match up the serial numbers upon arrival. I can’t even find on the order what serial number they sent me, and I don’t have the laptop anymore to compare it to.
I’m hopeful when they review their records they will realize they made an error, but if not, they intend to charge me for the laptop. I asked for a supervisor, and I was told I was talking to the person who is the supervisor. So I asked for her supervisor, she said she didn’t have one, so I asked if she owned Newegg, she does not, so I’m pretty sure she has a supervisor. She was incredibly rude, and I get it, she thinks I’m trying to scam the company, however, since I know I’m not, she’s really just being rude to a customer over a mistake.
I offered to help investigate and cooperate so we could figure out what happened, but she just said she would review the information she already reviewed and if she arrived at the same conclusion, then I would pay for the laptop and there are no other options. I can’t talk to anyone else, they won’t work with me, she is the final decision maker.
Be wary and check your serial numbers. Make sure to take pictures when you unwrap your laptop and record everything. I doubt they will believe you, I assume they will just think you are still scamming them, but this was the worst experience I had with Newegg, and I think I’m done with them. It’s not worth it to be treated this way.
I’m sorry to hear that the notebook suddenly failed to work and about your experience exchanging it. This must be a frustrating process and I do understand how you feel. Pros: So Asus has a new version of this laptop that’s upgraded from this one but is $1700, not $999 (this one). The new version has some nice features, like 2x the ram (32gb), super SD card reader and a slightly better screen, but I am so glad I didn’t buy the brand new one. For 999 this is the best and fastest laptop (or computer, period) I’ve ever owned. I used to build powerful over clocked desktops (back in that day) for performance and gaming. This laptop has more power and ram then the best desktop computer I could build about 10 years ago. It is way faster than anything I will use it for. Super fast loading becasue everything loads off of an SSD. Those used to cost a fortune and I could only buy one big enough for the operating system, now this was 10 years ago. Now the SSD is for everything. I don’t do much gaming anymore, but I have no doubt it would be decent for that. The most I’ll push this laptop is for 4k drone video editing, which is nothing for this thing. Nit is nice to have a semi powerful graphics card built in.
Overall, I love it and I’m glad I bought this one and also glad I didn’t buy the newest, best laptop. Sad to say but, I just didn’t need it. Its very quiet even with the fans on. The screen is bright and super clear. The 16 inch is a perfect size for me and not huge or bulky. These laptops are super thin these days, which is good if you like that type of thing. I personally don’t care that much, but I do care about reduction in overall weight, so I guess that would help that. It was easy to set up and Windows 11 isn’t the horrible Windows of the recent past, the one custom made for the Surface tablet with the tiles. I hated that version, windows 10? Microsoft made a big misread with that one, but this new Windows 11 is closer to the old school XP style of the past but smoother in transitions and features. This computer does not have a touch screen which is totally fine with me. I know it’s the new best thing, but all it really does is add fingerprints to your clean screen and adds little functionality that I can see or practically use.
Cons: The charger is huge. With all the technology, can they not make a normal sized charger? Its like a brick and TSA is constantly searching my laptop bag becasue of it, when traveling, flying. Its a DC converter, make it smaller…..come on. Also charging is very slow, especially compared to the super charging of apple products and Samsung. Time will tell in battery life, but it’s started out as an all day computer. We will see.
Overall Review: I would reccommended this product. I have no buyers remorse…..zero. I originally was looking at gaming laptops for the high tech, powerful specs and then realized, why do I even need this much juice. I don’t even game anymore, lol. The inner tech geek in me wanted the latest and best tech. Honestly, this is more “juice” than I need and impressive for the price point. You can always upgrade the ram to 32gb (from 16gb) if you feel inclined to spend more money and double the ram.
I am happy with it, period.
Pros: Fast, reliable, unbelievable display, great layout. Very light but well built and appears to be rugged. The keyboard I received does not have the ugly gray keys in the display. Thank you for that. I am very happy with this product as I am with all the Asus products I have and I have many.
Cons: It appears Windows 11 was installed as an upgrade instead of an original OS. No big deal except I notice some nuances that most people will never see.
Overall Review: Great product. Well worth the price. I actually am surprised they are selling it priced as it is. I wish the touch screens were not so expensive.
Overall Review: Received next day. Extremely easy to setup and use. Came with everything you need – bag and mouse in addition to power. Amazing screen clarity.
Pros: The laptop came fast, was packages beautifully, and setup was a breeze. Aside from another great ASUS product, Newegg was so easy to find what I wanted and order with ease.
I bought this laptop to downsize from a tower gaming system and a MacBook Pro (used professionally for software development, and also to process photos).
The new system has enough muscle to run my photo editing software, and I love the screen resolution for diving down into the smallest details in my photos. (Im not a professional photographer, but my software background pushes me towards focus on details in the equipment and tools I use.)
In addition to the photo processing, I use the laptop to run my quilt design and embroidery software, and business.
Overall, Im quite pleased with how beautifully this machine fit my needs.
Cons: The touchpad on the laptop is a bit laggy on some areas. I prefer using a touchpad, but with this laptop, I prefer using a mouse. There is a definite difference in the feel between this and the MacBook Pros touchpad.
Overall Review: Overall, a great purchase. Highly recommend.
Pros: Very fast with an excellent screen display. Bright and crisp. Massive upgrade from my old laptop. Love the speed!
Cons: My only complaint is a lack of Ethernet port. Had to buy a dongle.😫
Overall Review: I dont do gaming but on a work perspective, its a great machine.
Pros: – Screen resolution is something else, best picture quality I have ever seen on a computer.
– startup time is quick with no lag, was easy to setup and get moving.
Cons: – Don’t like McAfee security. Windows Defender comes installed on it which I prefer so I disabled McAfee.
Overall Review: – Can and do recommend for home use, gamers, etc..

Pros: Good Gamer Computer
Better battery life then most
Great deal when it was on sale
Will run any programs you may need for school. (For me it is MATLAB, SolidWorks, and Simulink)
Cons: A bit overkill if you’re not a committed gamer unless on sale.
Does NOT have a Ethernet port, so you’d need an adapter.
The keys are not as oddly colored IRL. The grey is a lot darker in person. But still ugly in my opinion.
Overall Review: The Access code for the free game that came with it at first was saying I did not have the hardware to claim the game. If that happens, contact Newegg about it, and they’ll get it sorted out. They were friendly and gave me the proper codes for redeeming the free game0.
Overall it has been a great laptop so far. And hopefully with its perks will last a long time past college and into a professional career.
