Pros: – They arrived on time
Cons: – OLD, Used and faulty in some cases
– Least expensive compared to similar drives but if they fail in a few months, without a warranty it is not worth the money saved.
Overall Review: No where in the description were these listed as used or refurbished or anything. In fact they list 5 year warranty and the drives are manufactured in 2014. This is deceptive in my opinion. One of the drives already is reporting sector read errors.

Pros: Price was good when I purchased from goHardDrive.
CrystalDiskInfo showed no errors on first boot.
goHardDrive issued me an RMA with no hassle. They mentioned a replacement, but the store shows out of stock, so we’ll see what happens.
Cons: 3 months later and CrystalDiskInfo is reporting errors with the status “Caution.”
Overall Review: I’ve had drives with “Caution” last 5+ more years, but as the drive is only 3 months old, I can’t comfortably let it slide.

Pros: Sustained ~140MB/s each drive in several multi-drive RAID systems
No drive failures, timeouts, or read errors in ~12 to 18 months of duty; only 1 DOA drive out of 24 received.
Cons: 1 DOA received out of 24 total isn’t bad
Overall Review: Out of our current production 96 drives, Seagate 3TB drives have an almost 35% failure rate with only 2 years of duty. Replacing with the more expensive Hitachi/HGST drives has so far proven a worthwhile investment.
Pros: 4TB capacity, working well.
Cons: None at this time.
Overall Review: I bought 4 of these 4TB drives to use in RAID 5 config for home ESXi server. All is well currently with these drives.

Overall Review: I spent several weeks researching all the different brands and lines of hard drives. After talking with a buddy in the tech business who pays more in quarterly taxes than I make in a year I decided on the HGST Ultrastar. Hitachi took them over but they still make the HGST independently rather than just slapping a new name on what they crank out of their mnanufacturing facility. THe Ultrastar is their enterprise line and my buddy told me that for a stick it in and forget it it was my best bet and I’d get exactly what I’d paid for. Nearly a year later now and he was right, I formatted it, started saving stuff to it and haven’t had to think about it since. I could not be happier with it.
Pros: Works and is very quiet and fast.. Hopefully I have no issues with this drive. Was a little leery since the first one was dead on arrival. Was willing to give it another chance as I was very surprised that a drive of this quality could fail on arrival yet again.
Cons: None so far which beats the first one that I received (was DOA)
Pros: Using this as a backup drive. No problems after using this for a few weeks.
Cons: – Loud
– Noticeable vibration if you’re running this on a desk
Overall Review: I’m not sure if I would get this again. I bought because of high reliability with Backblaze, but they don’t have to listen to the drive churning away.

Overall Review: The worst part about owning this failed drive is having to deal with HGST support. Receiving an RMA was no problem, done quickly online. The drive sat in their mail room for three days before they even acknowledged they had received it. It was another 10 days before the replacement was shipped, a little too nonchalant for a drive that is supposed to be enterprise grade.
