Pros: The performance in this 15 inch laptop is, as everyone suggests, top of the line. External monitor gaming in both QHD and UHD is as good as it gets for a laptop, besides the larger X17 and GE76; no complaints there!
The sound is also excellent, and I like this keyboard more than any from Lenovo, Asus, or Gigabytes mechanical ones.
The screen (which is mostly a con) does in fact have 100% Adobe RGB, which really does make a difference and looks great.
Cons: Unlike the (to-date) unavailable 4K MSI GE76, however, this 4K GE66 comes with a much older panel that’s not only 60hz, but also has a 33ms response time. If you plan on only using the laptops panel for creative work, at this price, I’d recommend a smaller 4k laptop and an egpu. If you plan on using it for gaming, be prepared for ghosting no matter what game you’re playing, which represents poor value to me.
Overall Review: Because of the panel choice within this kind of gaming laptop, I couldn’t recommend it to anyone. However, if you can find the QHD variant, I’d say that it’s a no brainer. If you are OK with the increasingly outdated resolution of 1080p, that would provide great value as well!
