Pros: both working great so far received both drives quickly
Overall Review: excellent
Pros: Heavy solid design….
Cons: I purchased two of these. First one failed almost right away, didn’t make it past installing windows. That one was returned. The second one I tried a couple of months later and it failed as well. And since it is months past my purchase date I now have an expensive paperweight.
Overall Review: I have a 2007 Hitachi Deskstar 320GB with 42,000+ hours of run time and still going strong. The whole reason I bought the new 1TB was because these drives were so reliable in the past. I run a computer shop and have to keep parts like drives on hand. If I can’t have peace of mind that a NEW drive will work properly, then it’s something I just won’t use or stock.
Pros: Easy to install. This is one of the few HDs that fits our NAS.
Cons: Price. This HD was significantly more expensive that the one we purchased earlier in the year.
Pros: Fast and quiet
Cons: Price was a little high.
Pros: Rock solid, highly reliable drives, even under harsh conditions. They are decently quiet, too. Performance is good, too.
Cons: Price.
Overall Review: For my job, I work with 100s of these drives… many of the drives have been around since late 2007… and they are still kicking strong with tons of run time and rebooting (spinning down, and back up hundreds of times a day) while having large amounts of IO in RAID configurations. A certain number have even been drop tested from as high as 4ft, placed in high heat conditions, or in intense vibration conditions (we call it the shake-n-bake machine). Overall, lets just say, these drives are not the common point of failure in our product. I plan to get some of these for my personal file server at home… they’re amazing.

Pros: from GoHardDrive, $49.99
clean and quiet
passed GSmartControl tests on linux install
Cons: GSmartControl found the s.m.a.r.t. self test logs from the previous owner. my drive had 30,075 hours runtime before refurb., and currently has 8 reallocated sectors.
this is NOT a NEW hard drive.
Overall Review: 1 this drive should be marked “REFURBISHED” for sale
2 you do not get more than you pay for.
