Pros: Stays somewhat cool
Cons: Drive included with an HP (Hewlett Packard) laptop. Within 1 hour of owning the HP laptop, the drive makes loud clicking sound. I can hear the heads constantly resetting. Checked the S.M.A.R.T. drive values, and they are all normal, which is very concerning. Clearly, the drive is failing, but the SMART system is not detecting the problems.
Overall Review: Have to return HP laptop because drive is making loud clicking sounds.
Pros: works as expected. I purchased this to replace a failed SANDISK SSD that died from hibernation/sleeping.
I had a backup image from the recent swap, so it was easy to put this in and it worked.
* Normal Laptop HDD speeds
* Normal or less heat than like drives
* No noticeable sounds when accessing drives (original drive was much louder)
* Great price when caught on sale at $70
* Good Bang for buck per GB
* Shipped in small box within Large Box
Cons: Price went back up after sale 🙂
Overall Review: If you need a drive and want space, this will work just fine.
Pros: Worked for 2.5 years. Not too slow for 5400rpm
Cons: Died after 2.5 yrs.
Overall Review: Used hgst scan tool and win 7 scan/fix first, showed 80% health, and was able to recover user files, then hard drive died suddenly. OEM drive only had 1 yr wty, not 3 years.
Pros: Slipped right into my PS3, No bracket… but a bit of cardboard from packing made for a nice fit.
Cons: none.
Pros: Somewhat fast?
Cons: I’ve gone through 2 of these so far, with a third on its way (Warranty is paying for them). One of the most unreliable Hard drives out there, for they die after 12 months exact whether you use it or not. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Overall Review: If you are buying this for an non-warranted repair, don’t do it. Find a better 7mm drive.
Pros: Fast, quiet, and until now absolutely no complain about this hard disk. Had it inside the Asus Q200E we bought a little bit more than 1 year ago, brought the netbook everywhere and never had any problem with the HDD.
Cons: The disk is dead, the computer doesn’t even see it anymore, there is no way to access it.
Manufacturing date on the disk is 02SEP12. It died on Sunday., January 5th, 2014. A little bit more than one year.
Pros: 500 GB Capacity
Cons: This drive is so slow. The Acer Aspire V5 is a fair notebook but the drive is so slow. I bought this guy as my notebook for meetings and travel because it is lite but I hate using it because of the bottleneck at the drive level. I have updated all firmware that I can find. Hitachi sold to Western Digital so that is my next check. Looking to upgrade to SSD.

Pros: none really
Cons: this drive came factory installed in my asus vivobook s400ca and it only lasted 8 months before it completely cratered – the entrie drive and even recovery partitions are unreadable, can’t even salvage a single file off it.
Overall Review: if you get this drive make sure you keep your data backed up
