Pros: Used this HDD as a replacement for my bro inlaws laptop, works great. Faster then the previous factory one and it works!

Pros: This unit was purchased to replace a failing Fujitsu HDD. The faulty drive was a factory component from a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Same general specs, 2.5″, 250GB, 5400RPM, 8MB Buffer, SATA 3.0Gb. Replacement Samsung unit installed, Windows 7 restored from DVD, system operation normal, user back up and running. It’s a great day in IT when plans work as planned.

Pros: Works great so far. Going on nearly two weeks of 24×7 uptime with no issues. Will report again later this year if any problems occur.

Overall Review: I did not have the poor packaging experience as another person reported earlier. The drive was packed in many layers of protection. I wish the drive price was lower, but I understand that prices increased due to flooding in Thailand.

Pros: Installed in a Dell Inspiron 1525 flawlessly. Ran Win 7 HP without any problems until a few weeks ago when Windows started crashing, sometimes with BSoD. So, I repartitioned the drive and formatted the partitions and installed Windows 7 again. But, some of the Win 7 update files would not install and kept getting various failure codes. I could never get SP1 to install even after repeated tries. Just tried re-installing Windows, and now it fails with a cryptic message about ‘corrupt file’. Ran Seagate’s SeaTools for DOS and both the Long and Short tests failed with numerous corrupt sectors on the drive. So, this drive is toast. The good news is, the drive has a 3 year warranty. Will see how Seagate handles the warranty claim.

Pros: Easy to install, quiet and worked right the first time… no issues.

Overall Review: Replaced a dead HD in an older laptop (~3 years old), installed easily and booted up the first time with no issues. Great value for the money!

Pros: Works fine in the laptop I bought it for. It was a replacement for a dead HDD.

Cons: Could be faster. Better packaging would’ve been nice. It was laying loose in the cardboard box, having fallen out of the plastic “end cap” inserts.

Overall Review: Bought it to replace a dead HDD in a client’s laptop. It’s the same specs as the old one. It wasn’t overpriced like the OEM drive, and works fine.

I love Newegg’s shipping: This went from order to doorstep in <48 hours with the economy option.

Pros: The drive is ok, BUT with the HUGE increase price in hard drives these days you’d think it would be packed with care. Ordered a Microsoft Sidewinder x4 keyboard and this drive. Shipment came in a HUGE box, packed with a bunch of packing paper. This drive was just floating around loosely on it’s own in this huge box. In fact I found it on the bottom of box, below the Sidewinder keyboard! Any knocks, drops from the shipment this drive took the hit! No bubble wrap on the drive or nothing, just the anti static bag.

Cons: High increase in hard drives, and poor packing/ship on drive Newegg! Your dealing with higher increase in drives prices, you’d better take better care of, and pack them well Newegg!

Overall Review: 2 eggs off for Newegg packing on expensive drive!

Pros: Ordered this as a replacement hard drive for a friend of mine’s laptop. Installation was really simple, and the drive worked perfectly after installation.

Cons: The price was a little high compared to what I was expecting.
