Ownership: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It defrags very quickly and makes for a compact chassis look. You can even fool someone that it’s an SSD (when the computer is off of course).
Cons: It is very loud, compared to your average 7200 drives. You might want some special dampeners for this one. My computer is against a wall and when it’s writing, it can be heard on the other side.
Overall Review: It says 6 gb/s, but it actually uses SATA2 even if you put it in a SATA3 input. Other than the other mishaps, you might want to stick with a $120 SSD and a complementary 7200 drives instead of this using the the Intel SRT if you have the parts that do that.

Pros: – Noticeably faster than your standard 7200 RPM Hard Drive, especially given the SATA 6.0Gb/s technology.
– 600 Gb is a big step up from the previously available models.
– Cool and stable for almost a year now.
– The best alternative to SSD available. End of story.
Cons: – Initially, I thought that the price was a bit steep, but after using this drive for nearly a year now, I can call it money well spent.
Overall Review: – If you can scoop this drive up for less than 299.99, do it. (As of 7/23/11)
Pros: Screaming fast, No Delay when using pro tools software audio recording. Adobe Premiere rocks on them too
Cons: Wish it was higher storage
Pros: fast
Cons: lasted almost 3 months before I started hearing clicking sounds and it would not access certain files.
Overall Review: I have been using velociraptors for almost 8 years, this is the second one to fail.
Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: These are great hardrives, however I dont own this particualr model BUT – Some one needs to make NEWEGG aware that they have these listed under laptop drives – they are not made for any laptops at all – the fact they are 2.5″ form factor is what has them thrown off
Cons: they wont run on laptop volatges – they wont fit into a laptop.
Woul be awesome if they did
Overall Review: please look into this newegg – so you can list them properly.
