Overall Review: I ordered one of these as a replacement drive to upgrade the last 6TB drive in my Synology DS920+. The drive came with a label that looks like it came from Seagate that identifies it as a refurbished drive. After inserting, the S.M.A.R.T. information says the drive has zero (0) hours. I’m guessing mine was a factory refurb and not just a server pull. The array rebuild was a brutal three days, and it now has 180 hours on it and is performing flawlessly with the other three WD Ultrastar drives in the array. I couldn’t be happier.
Pros: Dense likely be a good paper weight or improv weapon.
Cons: struggles to spin up clicks as it does sometimes frees itself from head crashes long enough to be seen as a drive but even under these conditions it cannot initialize.
Overall Review: Does not work.
Pros: cheap. I bought four for a raid 5
Cons: 1 had bad sectors and failed certification. They sent me an RMA and a new one when they received mine back. The replacement certified. I set up the raid and got a smart notification of imminent failure on another drive, bad sectors
Overall Review: I ordered 4 drives for a raid 5. One failed before I could set the raid up. I returned it, waited a week, another arrived. After I set up the raid, another disk failed within one hour of operation. So I’m guessing ‘refurbished’ means broken. I’ve asked for a refund. I’m storing years of home videos of my family. 2 drives out of 4 failed gives me zero confidence.

Overall Review: Took a gamble on a this refurbished drive.
It has 300~ hours on it, and no errors. Not bad for the price.
