Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear G.Skill memory has worked well for many of your builds. This is a great plug and play 16GB kit that is compatible with most DDR3 systems that can support 4GB modules. With regards to pricing, DRAM prices fluctuate on a daily basis (similar to commodities). DDR3 prices have been extremely low for the past few months, but it would not be surprising to see an upward trend. It is common for prices to be much different within several months, so when you see memory you need, make sure to purchase it as soon as possible. Otherwise, it may not be available when you decide to buy it. DRAM pricing is not linear; just look at DDR2, it costs much more than DDR3. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Pros: Good price. Good performance. The machine posted and passed MemTest with flying colors.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Having to go through the delay and hassle of an RMA is always a fear with a 4-pack of modules. I’ve purchased several of these from G.Skill and have yet to have a module fail at any point during thorough testing. Maybe I’ve been lucky or perhaps these guys just “get it” and are testing thoroughly at the factory. I’ll confidently buy G.Skill again.
Pros: NIce packaging & great looking heatsinks, the best I’ve laid hands on.
Cons: That it doesn’t run in the Dell Optiplex 780, despite the fact that a pop-up GSkill customer Service rep said the set would. The PC only boots with 2GB sticks.
Overall Review: It’s likely a good product for the ones who needs this RAM, with low timings, nice heatsinks, but it’s not for those with a desktop version of the Optiplex 780. All it does after plugging in is a steady whining, not just a set of beeps. BTW, the 2GB sticks I’ve used for now, though it’s 11-11-11-28 timing, still downgrades to 7-7-7-20. Q45/43 Chipset.
If GSkill wants to keep my business, they need to get these virtual pop-up assistants right.
Glad to hear you like the design of the G.Skill RipJaws series RAM. It is one of the most popular designs on NewEgg ever. Unfortunately, this particular memory kit may not be compatible with the Dell Optiplex 780 desktop. For older builds that support DDR3, generally double sided RAM is required for operation. The latest batches of RAM are mainly single sided so it can pose a problem as older BIOS versions can not support the latest RAM. For guaranteed double sided chips, take a look at the G.Skill Value series models ending in the letters ‘NT’. eg. F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT
With regards to virtual pop up assistants, it is not operated by G.Skill so unfortunately we do not have control over their comments. If you need direct assistance from G.Skill, please select ‘Chat with G.Skill’ on any product page or send us an email directly and we will be glad to help. We will make sure you have 16GB of RAM working smoothly in your computer.

Pros: Replaced Patriot memory with this product and it’s noticeably faster.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black, MSI 770-CAS, everything overclocked & watercooled
Pros: The ones that work are great!
Cons: one was DOA, and rma you have to send whole unit back as one, too much down time!
We are sorry to hear you received a bad module. Please send it in and a replacement should work much better. Directly through G.Skill, you can send in just the single module, but we highly recommend the entire kit since they are a matched set. Each set is pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed to work in a single system, so we would like to maintain that consistency. Should you have any further questions or issues, feel free to contact us directly and we will be glad to assist you.

Pros: Very stable, In over 6yrs doing business with new egg I have had only 1 module go bad. Great on heavy system loads. I’ve recommended this product not only to my customers but friends as well. I personally use this manufacturer.
Cons: Only wish they had there company in the U.S for RMA reasons.
Overall Review: check all specs for your cpu and MB manufacturer they are great assistance. Both intel and AMD to see what ram your cpu and Mb supports. Read b4 you buy
Pros: Nice quality RAM, came up on the first POST as per the SPD except for the last number (20 instead of 18) but changed it in the BIOS.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Put this on a Gigabyte EP43T-UD3L MB with a Q6700 CPU to use as a modest VM machine. Running Virtual Box on Win 7 Home Premium and have PinguyOS, PC BSD and Ubuntu Studio all installed and running. Upped my FSB to 300 Mhz which clocked the RAM at 1210 and the CPU at 3 Ghz and showed no Memtest errors but got a few BSODs once I started in on the VM stuff so I set it back to factory specs and its been rock solid ever since. Overall very happy. The RAM runs solid and never gets even warm to the touch.
Pros: 16GB is great for multi tasking, & large programs
tight timings 7-7-7-18
scored a 7.8 in WEI
Cons: bandwidth is very little compared to 2000+mhz DDR3. if you have a normal spinning hard drive, there would be no big difference, but if you have a SSD, like i do, it could be a game changer.
Overall Review: i ended up purchasing 8gb of corsair 2000mhz with high timings & overclocked it to 2133mhz, I noticed smoother game play with my 2133mhz & fast loading times than this 16GB kit

Pros: Zero issues running in a Windows 7 64bit Pro machine.
Nice color and interesting heat spreaders.
G Skill is a trusted brand that I have used in many other PC builds. Have not had any issues at all yet.
Cons: The price has gone up for some reason.
I bought these back on December 5 2011 for 71.99.
Now they are $79.99 I realize this is only 8.00 difference but hey, why the increase? I haven’t heard of any floods wiping out the RAM factories somewhere.
Overall Review: Good RAM
Strange price increase.
